ONE YEAR OF AMBAR
This month, on the Summer Solstice, we celebrate our first year at Ambar Estate. We’ve welcomed incredible people from near and far, shared unforgettable experiences and glasses of wine, and felt the love from every one of you who has walked through our doors. From heartfelt conversations in the tasting room to kind words in the press, we are deeply grateful.
Our commitment to Regenerative Organic© farming has paid off with wines that truly express the terroir of Oregon’s Dundee Hills. One of our proudest achievements was Decanter magazine naming the 2022 Lustral Chardonnay as one of the top 50 wines in the U.S. with 97 points.
We believe Oregon has the opportunity to become recognized as the most responsibly farmed wine region in the world. To that end, in February we presented Ambar as a case study at the Oregon Wine Symposium alongside Troon Vineyard, the only other ROC-certified producer in Oregon. We hope to inspire others to join us in a farming standard that protects the planet, protects farmworkers, and produces wines of the highest possible caliber.
But what makes Ambar truly special is the community behind it. Our wines begin with the care of dedicated farmworkers and come to life through the artistry of our winemakers, Kate Payne Brown and Bryan Weil. In the tasting room, Julie, Morgan, Connery, and Alex create meaningful connections with each guest, and Chef Heidi’s food makes them never want to leave.
We have high hopes for Ambar’s future. According to Wine Spectator, Oregon is on a “winning streak,” with outstanding vintages in 2021, 2022, 2023, and “encouraging early buzz on 2024.” Our delicious 2024 Rosé is just out, with 2023 Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs coming soon.
Right now, the vineyard is bursting with wildflowers- meadowfoam, poppies, and the soft hum of summer. Your support has helped shape Ambar into more than a winery; it’s becoming a destination for shared values, shared meals, and shared stories. We would love to see you there.
With heartfelt thanks,
Pam & Rob
